Safety Standards
California Prop 65
Orbit Baby strollers, car seats and travel systems pass Prop 65 testing. Prop 65 testing assures that products have passed standards testing for a wide range of naturally occurring and synthetic chemicals that are known to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. We test our car seats for Prop 65 Standards each time they go to production. The full list of Prop 65 chemicals is here .
Oeko-Tex® Standard 100
Being Okeo-Tex® Standard 100 Certified means that the textiles in our strollers and car seats that come in contact with you and your child have been tested for harmful substances, including pesticides, toxic chemicals, and dyes.
Federal Motor Vehicle Standards
Our car seats pass both FMVSS 302 and FMVSS 213. These are both used to confirm safety of a car seat in a vehicle used within the USA.
Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA)-Certified
All eligible Orbit Baby products are JPMA-Certified. JPMA offers an extra set of rigorous testing above the standard requirements, so brands can obtain additional safety certification. The JPMA Certification Seal stands for quality, safety, performance, and functionality, giving parents added peace of mind that they’re using a product that lives up to its promise.
Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA)
Ensuring safety for little ones, the CPSIA included provisions that address issues like lead, phthalates, toy safety, durable infant or toddler products, third-party testing and certification and tracking labels on all US products.
ASTM Voluntary Standards & CFR Title 16
Orbit Baby chooses to have our travel systems tested for safety by ASTM International, one of the largest voluntary standards developing organizations in the world.
Many ASTM standards were adopted into law by CFR Title 16, which Orbit Baby proudly passes. ASTM and CFR Title 16 test for safety of small parts and sharp edges.
